We were somewhat taken aback by the bars on the smaller stores in outlying towns and villages of Curacao. Evidently this is an effective way to deter armed robberies. When someone pulls a gun the store keeper just drops behind the counter.

We saw plenty of church buildings in Curacao. Beautiful buildings. Different flavors and in different settings but all seemed to be in decent repair.

With those huge wing-like fins you would almost think that they could fly but they can't even though their common name is 'Sea Robin'.
