Marilyn enjoyed walking on the coral sand beach at Grote Knip also known as Playa Abou in Papiamento.
It was a short drive from where we were staying at Playa Lugun and seems to be very popular with both tourists and locals. Arriving early and then leaving before the crowds arrive is a... read more

We've been on vacation for several weeks and other than it taking 26 hours and three flights to get there Curacao is really nice. Beautiful, warm and slow paced. Robin picked an excellent location.
It would have been nice not to have come down with pneumonia but I only missed a couple... read more

I'm amazed at how close some fish have let me get with my camera. Actually, Chris Immer has that camera now. The camera I have now wouldn't focus this close.
As long as I kept thinking the good thoughts I could approach as close as I wanted. Dave Ange taught me that.
Of course we... read more

I personally haven't seen Tiger Rockfish here in Puget Sound. This one was in British Columbia. The China Rockfish below was also in British Columbia. Both were more skittish than the rockfish I've encountered here.

Not like the Stone Fish of yesterday that mimics a stone, our Pacific Northwest Rockfish gets its name from its habitat ~ rocks. And unlike the Stone Fish they hardly ever sit still.
Still I've found them more cooperative when it comes to taking pictures than my grandchildren. The... read more

The aptly named Stone Fish sits there perfectly still as a stone blending in with its surroundings. But when a fish swims by this stone it disappears in an explosive gulp!
It is only colorful in this picture because I have a dive light shining on it. Water absorbs light and the deeper... read more
