Fast $8 haircuts

Posted by Pastor Ron Sunday, September 19, 2010 3:14:00 PM
Fast $8 haircuts Don's Barber Shop on Main street in Monroe. Home of the angry clipper. I have no idea why the clipper on that sign looks angry. Maybe the sign painter thought that's what a fast clipper looks like. Jim the barber will ask if you want a regular. Just say yes because it doesn't make ... read more

Our lease is running out here and eventually we will have to relocate. Every one of us. You too. You didn't think you could live here forever did you? Have you ever met anyone who did? From what I hear, Hell is in a furious expansion mode and of course that comes with some great... read more

"Rocks ahead ~ we'll all be dead."

Sometimes you just need to change course completely, as in turn around and go the other way. In the Bible it is called "repentance". But whatever you call it, it involves acknowledgement, decision and action. You have to acknowledge that you are headed for trouble. You have to... read more

My favorite anchor find.

Posted by Pastor Ron Thursday, September 16, 2010 8:09:00 AM
My favorite anchor find. For a scuba diver a lost anchor is always a good find. I've found quite a few nice anchors but some are bent, rusted and encrusted and not worth bringing home. Normally I wouldn't have bothered with this one. It wasn't much to look at but I took it home anyway and it sat in the garage with... read more

I see the lights.

Posted by Pastor Ron Wednesday, September 15, 2010 8:29:00 AM
I see the lights. Several decades ago Dave and I were diving in 70' of water off the South end of Whidbey Island. Dave found a UK rechargeable dive light with a full charge. Boy was he a happy camper... he had a dive light to use on the second dive! We always liked finding *treasures* on a dive. Fishing... read more

My first three dive buddies: Dave, Dave and Dave.

Posted by Pastor Ron Tuesday, September 14, 2010 2:31:00 PM
My first three dive buddies: Dave, Dave and Dave. My friend Dave, his son Dave, and my son Dave. "Dave", "Davey" and "David" made communication easier . Good thing my parents hadn't named me David. Dave had been a Navy diver and taught me a lot of his highly honed bad habits. It's taken a long time and some intense training but I've... read more

Thai Pizza? Is that legal?

Posted by Pastor Ron Sunday, September 12, 2010 5:16:00 PM
Thai Pizza? Is that legal? I don't know if this is legal everywhere, but yes Thai Pizza is legal in the state of Washington. At least my version of Coconut Shrimp Curry Pizza. The pizza dough is the standard flour, water, yeast, ect. The sauce is where it all takes a turn sideways. A can of coconut milk, a... read more

I'm doing the best I can.

Posted by Pastor Ron Saturday, September 11, 2010 7:56:00 AM
OK, that probably isn't correct. I'm sure I could do better. I should do better. Like Peter, Jesus asks me if I Love Him and I say that I love Him. Unfortunately, Jesus is using the word agapé and we are using a word that is closer to, "Yeah, well I really like you too Jesus." Not the... read more

Short to-do lists are best.

Posted by Pastor Ron Friday, September 10, 2010 7:17:00 AM
If the list gets too long then I don't even get started on it. Personally, I could never send a rocket to the moon. The list of things to do is just too long. I could never even get started on the Old Testament Law. Waaaay too much stuff to pay attention to. Fortunately for me Jesus came... read more
